THE FEILD LOG

THE SPECIMEN

Cut from a dense Heavyweight Heritage Jersey, this piece features a signature garment-dyed finish that provides a lived-in, vintage hand-feel from the first wear. The structural, boxy fit allows the artwork to sit flat against the chest without distortion.

THE ARTIFACT: CHAINSAW

A vintage mid-century two-man chainsaw rests on a stump, captured with painterly technical clarity that honors the grit, history, and weight of early timber work.
In the hush of a forest clearing, a vintage two-man chainsaw rests atop a wide stump, its long blade gleaming with the subtle sheen of oiled steel. The wood beneath shows the fresh, clean cut of the morning’s work, its pale interior exposed to the cold air. Through the Technical/Painterly Blend style, the machine becomes both artifact and artwork: crisp engineering lines softened by natural textures, mechanical heft set against the quiet grace of the forest.
This is a tool from another era—heavy, demanding, and requiring teamwork as essential as fuel. The handles stretch long, meant for two workers to guide as one. Each component is illustrated with near-scientific precision: the engine housing pitted by years, the chain teeth sharp as frost, the vents darkened with the soot of countless starts. Yet around it, the painterly softness gathers like mist: moss bright on the stump’s rim, ferns leaning inward, and old-growth shadows framing the scene in deep green.
There is a history in the way it sits. The forest edge bears the mark of its labor—fresh rounds stacked neatly nearby, their rings telling stories of windstorms, droughts, and slow growth. A few stray woodchips cling to the saw’s cooling fins. The faint smell of gasoline lingers in the air, tempered by the sweetness of sap and the earthy damp of morning.
But the symbolism reaches deeper. This chainsaw represents a moment in time when the partnership between human effort and raw landscape demanded strength, precision, and respect. It speaks to teamwork, to heritage, to the enduring rhythm of work in a land shaped by timber and rain.

(FINAL ECHO)
As sunlight breaks gently across the clearing, the scene settles into its final truth:
Chainsaw stands as a bridge between eras—where human craft, forest resilience, and the echoes of old labor meet beneath the towering firs.

FABRICATION & SPECIFICATIONS

| |

Each design is displayed in a carefully selected color that best reflects its character and artwork. Additional color options are available and produced to the same standard, even if not shown. All colors are chosen to complement the design and garment style.

MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL

Preserving the Artifact
To maintain the integrity of the fiber density and the fidelity of the print, we recommend the following protocol:

  • Wash: Machine wash cold with like colors. Turn the garment inside out to protect the artwork.
  • Dry: Hang dry is preferred to "cure" the fit. Tumble dry on low if necessary.
  • Iron: Never iron the design directly.
