THE ARTIFACT: MIDNIGHT PATROL

A vintage patrol car’s grille glows in the rain-soaked dark, headlights carving tunnels of light through a street emptied of everything but weather and watchfulness.
Rain falls in fine, unbroken sheets, turning the street into a reflective river of scattered neon and pale sodium glow. Parked at the edge of the curb, half in shadow, a vintage patrol car faces down the empty road. Its chrome grille gleams under the streaking drops, catching every passing glint of light. In the film noir illustration style, the car becomes a character in its own right—solid, stoic, and framed by hard angles and heavy contrast.
Headlights cut through the rain in twin beams, casting long, wet reflections that stretch toward the storm drains and vanish down the slope of the pavement. Beyond that small island of illumination, the city recedes into soft darkness. Faded storefronts and brick facades loom in silhouette, their windows dim save for an occasional flicker from a late-night room. The steady drumming of rain on metal sets the rhythm: a constant, subdued percussion marking the passage of uneasy hours.
Inside the car, light from the dash casts a muted green and amber glow across the interior. A radio crackles occasionally, bursts of static and clipped words threading through the steady hiss of storm and white noise. The film noir style heightens every shadow, turning rain into diagonal streaks that slash across the frame. Preserving the Artifact
To maintain the integrity of the fiber density and the fidelity of the print, we recommend the following protocol:

• Wash: Machine wash cold with like colors. Turn the garment inside out to protect the artwork.
• Dry: Hang dry is preferred to "cure" the fit. Tumble dry on low if necessary.
• Iron: Never iron the design directly.
