THE FEILD LOG

THE SPECIMEN

A masterclass in understated utility, this crewneck is crafted from Soft-Washed Heritage Fleece. It balances thermal retention with breathability. The split-stitch tailoring reinforces the seams for durability, offering a clean, draped silhouette ideal for layering over tees or under structured outerwear.

THE ARTIFACT: SHEARS

A pair of worn garden shears rests across a wooden bench, illustrated in steel-and-timber realism that highlights craftsmanship, edge, and years of tending.
On a sunlit garden bench, a pair of worn shears lies open, their blades catching thin glimmers of morning light. In Steel-and-Timber Realism, every detail emerges with clarity—the curved handles shaped to fit the hand, the small spots of rust near the hinge, and the sharp, honed edges that reflect silver-blue wherever the sun touches them. The shears appear both utilitarian and elegant, a tool shaped equally by craftsmanship and years of dedicated use.
The wooden bench beneath them is softened by time. Its grain runs in wide, warm bands, worn smooth where countless hands have rested after hours of tending the garden. A few green stems lie scattered nearby—fresh cuttings from plants gently shaped to encourage new growth. One leaf clings to the hinge of the shears, its edges curling slightly toward the light. Dewdrops collect along the bench’s surface, sparkling quietly as the sun rises.
The garden surrounding the bench hums with early life. Tall hollyhocks sway along the fence line, their blooms catching the breeze. Lavender plants release a subtle fragrance as pollinators brush past. The air carries a warmth that promises a day of steady growth, and somewhere nearby, the slow trickle of water reaches the soil with soft, rhythmic sound. The shears rest in this setting like punctuation—pause between moments of tending.
Symbolically, the shears represent the quiet work of shaping, guiding, and renewing. Each cut they make is an act of trust in the plant’s resilience, removing what must fall away so that new branches may flourish. The steel-and-timber rendering heightens the sense of durability and care, suggesting a tool built to last as long as the hands that wield it with intention.

(FINAL ECHO)
As the morning brightens, the blades gleam once more, reflecting the garden they help nurture.
Shears reminds us that growth is often encouraged not only by what we add, but by what we gently let go.

MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL

Preserving the Artifact
To maintain the integrity of the fiber density and the fidelity of the print, we recommend the following protocol:

  • Wash: Machine wash cold with like colors. Turn the garment inside out to protect the artwork.
  • Dry: Hang dry is preferred to "cure" the fit. Tumble dry on low if necessary.
  • Iron: Never iron the design directly.
