THE ARTIFACT: THE HUCKLEBERRY

High on a mountainside, where the air runs cool even in late summer, a single branch leans into the light. The painting captures this huckleberry spray with botanical scenic attention—more expansive than a strict study, yet still rooted in precise observation. Clusters of berries hang beneath the leaves, their skins a deep, saturated violet that borders on black, each one glossed with a soft bloom that catches the slanting light. Droplets of dew cling to their surfaces and the edges of leaves, tiny spheres refracting fragments of sky and distant peaks.
The leaves themselves show the marks of the season: a few insect-nibbled edges, some reddening along the veins where the first hints of autumn are creeping in. Preserving the Artifact
To maintain the integrity of the fiber density and the fidelity of the print, we recommend the following protocol:

• Wash: Machine wash cold with like colors. Turn the garment inside out to protect the artwork.
• Dry: Hang dry is preferred to "cure" the fit. Tumble dry on low if necessary.
• Iron: Never iron the design directly.
