THE FEILD LOG

THE SPECIMEN

Constructed from Architectural Grade Fleece, this hoodie is engineered for sanctuary. It features a generous, relaxed fit with a double-lined hood and heavy-gauge drawcords. The interior offers a plush, brushed finish, creating a wearable shield against the elements.

THE ARTIFACT: THE PORTAL

An open book whose pages unfurl into misty mountain peaks, a surreal gateway where stories become landscapes and imagination becomes terrain.
A single book lies open on a weathered wooden table, lit by the cool glow of morning drifting through a rain-washed window. Its pages curve gently outward, touched by moisture in the air, but in the next breath the scene shifts. Through the Double Exposure Silhouette approach, the pages begin to rise into a landscape—ink turning into mist, margins dissolving into distant ridges, and the center seam of the book unfolding into a valley carved from pale blue light.
The forested peaks emerge with painterly softness: Douglas firs rising in layered silhouettes, fog drifting through their branches, and faint silhouettes of ravens circling above. The words printed on the pages blur into suggestion, like memories becoming terrain. The table beneath the book fades slightly at the edges, as though the physical world lacks the gravity to compete with the mountains forming from its spine.
Symbolism grows naturally: the book becomes both refuge and doorway. Its open form invites passage into the unknown, offering the quiet promise that every story contains landscapes large enough to get lost in—and to be found by. The double-exposure style reinforces this union of inner and outer worlds, showing that imagination is not merely an escape but an extension of the mountains, forests, and fogbanks woven through the Pacific Northwest.

(FINAL ECHO)
A soft draft moves through the room, stirring the pages and causing the painted fog to drift. The peaks brighten for a moment, catching early sunlight before fading back into pale ink and paper. The window outside shows real mountains in the distance, mirroring the ones that just lifted from the book’s heart.
The Portal reflects the truth that the wildest places we travel often begin with a page turned and a breath held.

MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL

Preserving the Artifact
To maintain the integrity of the fiber density and the fidelity of the print, we recommend the following protocol:
