THE ARTIFACT: THE SUN CHANTERELLE

A surreal light-blend rendering of a golden chanterelle mushroom whose gills flare into radiant sunrays, turning forest floor treasure into a small, earthbound star.
On the dappled floor of a late-summer forest, a single chanterelle rises from the leaf litter, its cap unfolding like a golden trumpet. In this surreal light blend, the underside of the mushroom is where the transformation begins. The gills, already known for their elegant, ridged structure, lengthen into rays of light that spill outward, shifting gradually from solid form into luminous beams. The glow they cast warms the nearby moss, leaves, and soil, as though a hidden sun has surfaced briefly through the forest floor.
The chanterelle’s surface is painted in rich gradients of amber, saffron, and soft orange, with hints of deeper ochre in the shaded folds. The gill-to-ray transition is handled carefully—no hard lines, just a dissolving of pigment into radiance. Tiny dust motes dance within the light, catching the eye like drifting spores. Around the mushroom, the forest remains realistically grounded: damp soil, small twigs, and scattered needles rendered with naturalistic detail that contrasts beautifully with the surreal glow at the center.

Preserving the Artifact
To maintain the integrity of the fiber density and the fidelity of the print, we recommend the following protocol:

• Wash: Machine wash cold with like colors. Turn the garment inside out to protect the artwork.
• Dry: Hang dry is preferred to "cure" the fit. Tumble dry on low if necessary.
• Iron: Never iron the design directly.
